Kabul/JEN: The Taliban on Saturday hanged the bodies of four alleged kidnappers, who had been killed in clashes with the Talib forces, in different squares in the western city of Herat in Afghanistan, Tolo News reported citing eyewitnesses' accounts.

The Afghan news channel reported quoting Taliban officials in Herat that the four men had allegedly kidnapped a businessman with his son.

In some viral social media videos and photos, it was seen that four men in blood-stained clothes had been hanged from a crane in the heart of Herat, Afghanistan's third largest city.

Taliban leaders in Herat told Tolo News that the incident would be a lesson for other kidnappers in the region.

The businessman and his son, who had been reportedly kidnapped from their fuel shop in Herat's PD12 and were rescued later, denied to speak to the media.

The Taliban said their crackdown on kidnappers will continue in Herat as kidnapping has been a big problem in the western Afghan city, according to a report by Tolo News.
