San Diego: The San Diego police said one shooter was arrested after she allegedly opened fire close to the finishing line of a marathon race in California, media reports said on Monday.
The police said the woman shooter has been taken into custody.
The incident reportedly occurred during the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.
The police tweeted: "The Active Shooter at 100 West C St. is in custody. There’s no longer a threat to the community. The scene is secure. The Rock and Roll Marathon has resumed."
No injuries have been reported so far.
The organisers of the race said in a statement as quoted by BBC: "The situation involving an active shooter who was engaged with law enforcement was not related to today's race."
"By 11:45 (18:45 GMT), the course was shut down and approximately 4,900 athletes were rerouted into a designated safe zone," it read.
"While the race was officially stopped, law enforcement gave the clearance at 11:56 for runners to resume their progress toward the finish line and the post-race finish area, where they were able to meet up with family and friends," read the statement.

In 2013, a bomb explosion at the finishing line of the Boston marathon had left three people killed.
