We are looking for a skillful Production Assistant of Special Program. In this position you will under the supervision of the Senior Producer of the Special Program be responsible for new program proposals and participation in special programs at Radio Farda. Special programming includes all those shows, which fall outside of regular news bulletins and news magazines, as well as outside of the music/information blocks. These can be interactive live talk shows, such as the Farda Station satire show, or any other new formats that the Director classifies as special programming.

Responsibilities

• Propose and take part in interactive, live shows for Radio Farda or TV, based on a strategic vision, and present for approval to the Director of Radio Farda.
• Propose and help to implement an intra-departmental review process for all special programs, to ensure that adequate adjustments are made for improving new shows.
• Follow and pay attention to the editorial direction and content of respective programs, within guidelines set in place for each show.
• Ensure regular and effective communication and cooperation with other parts of Radio Farda operation, such as the TV, web team, music team and the news team.
• Provide support for continuity of special programs, taking into the account expected and un-expected absences.
• Assist the Senior Producer of the Special Program in searching for audios / Videos that he needs for his show and sort messages that must be read in the show.
• Presents items for the special program on Radio & TV, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

• Combination of education and experience
• Journalism, international relations or related field BA - bachelor’s degree
• Experience in journalism or professional writing 1-2 years.
• Good knowledge of Iranian politics, social and cultural affairs.
• Previous experience working in a multicultural or a multinational environment; or experience living and working abroad, preferably in relevant RFE/RL target regions.
• Ability to work with others on a team - be a team player, who can interact and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, and yet demanding work environment.
• Discipline and experience of working and writing under deadline.
• Languages:
• English language Working Knowledge Oral+Written
• Persian language Working Knowledge Oral+Written
