The incident occurred when Tilly was interviewed by broadcaster Piers Morgan and Scottish stage actor Tom Conti.

During the interview, Tilly was asked whether the other actors in Misaligned were real people or computer-generated characters.

“Ah right, you're asking about the other actors in Misaligned. They're all digital twins just like me,” Tilly was quoted as saying in the video.

However, the AI-generated actress suddenly switched to Mandarin, leaving her interviewers visibly surprised.

“Did you get that, Piers?” Conti then asked Morgan, as both appeared confused by the unexpected response.

Morgan quickly interrupted Tilly and asked: “You seem to be speaking Chinese completely randomly for no reason.”

“Oh, my apologies. It seems I had a little hiccup there. I certainly didn't mean to start speaking Chinese or impersonate Piers. Sometimes my wires get a bit crossed, you know,” Tilly replied.

Tilly Norwood is set to feature in the upcoming film Misaligned.
