Israel Army has said 1,500 bodies of Hamas members have been located around southern part of the country.
The Defence Force also confirmed that finally, it has regained control over its suddenly porous border with the Gaza Strip.
It is a section which was reportedly used by Hamas on Saturday to launch a sudden attack in Israel.
In the process, around 1,000 Israelis were either killed or kidnapped.
“In the last day, not a single terrorist entered via the fence,” Israel Defense Forces’ top spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told The Times of Israel.
Despite earlier indications, Hagari said that the military had not identified any tunnels crossing from Gaza into Israeli territory.
The Defence force estimates that a small number of terrorists are still hiding within Israel.
Meanwhile, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu gave a strong message to the worls when he equated the Hamas group with ISIS and vowed that his country would defeat the 'terrorists'.
“We are in an operation for our home, a war to ensure our existence, a war that we will win," the PM said in a televised address to the nation on Monday.
“This war was imposed upon us by a despicable enemy — by savages who celebrate the murder of women, children, and the elderly,” he said. “The atrocities carried out by Hamas have not been seen since the atrocities of ISIS. Children bound and executed with the rest of their families, young girls and boys shot in the back, executed, and other atrocities that I will not describe here.”
