Pakistani security forces have killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area of Pakistan's Tirah region.
According to a statement from the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations, the security forces conducted the operation on the night of September 25-26 after they received reports of terrorists' presence in the area.
"During the conduct of the operation, an intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists which resulted in the killing of three terrorists," said the statement issued by ISPR as quoted by Geo News.
One of the terrorists included Commander Kifayat alias Tor Adnan who was actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against the law enforcement agencies as well as the killing of innocent civilians, read the statement.
"Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area," it said, adding that the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
