Mississippi: At least 19 people died after tornadoes hit the US state of Mississippi on Friday, media reports said.
According to reports, it is believed a large number of people are currently trapped under the debris.
The twisters caused devastation in several rural towns, where trees and power lines were torn down and tens of thousands of power outages were registered, reports BBC.
Heavy rainfall and hail the size of golf balls were reported in Mississippi, the British media reported.
Mississippi's governor Tate Reeves tweeted: "Many in the MS Delta need your prayer and God’s protection tonight."
