Lucknow/UNI: Uttar Pradesh government has declared one-day state mourning on the death of state cabinet minister Chetan Chauhan on August 17.
According to a notification of the state government on Sunday, the national flag would be half mast on Monday while there would be state holiday.
The cremation of the minister would be held with full state honours.
Meanwhile, the cremation of the minister would he held at Garh Mukteshwar in Hapur district on the bank of holy Ganga on Monday morning.
As Chauhan died of Covid, the cremation would be held following strict guidelines.
Chauhan was the state homeguard, political pension and youth affairs minister and died at the Medanta hospital in Gurugram.
He was suffering from Covid since July 11 and was getting treatment at SGPGI, Lucknow but was rushed to Medanta on Saturday after organ failure.
