Brussels: The European Union has introduced retaliatory tariffs on goods from the United States of America, reports said on Friday.
The move will come into effect from today and will affect 2.8 billion Euro worth of US goods.
Tariffs have been levied on orange juice, bourbon whiskey and motorcycles.
The US has imposed tariffs of 25 percent and 10 percent on steel and aluminium imports respectively.
The US decision affected the EU and countries like Mexico, Canada and India.
India, which is one of the largest buyers of almonds from the US, has said that it will increase taxes on 29 products imported from America, including steel, iron and agricultural goods.
India's move will come into force from Aug 4.
While US President Donald Trump has vowed to not let anyone take advantage of his country, his statement has been met with scorn from other world leaders.
The US is presently engaged in a virtual trade war with China and risks the same with Canada, Mexico, India and the European Union.
