Pop icon Britney Spears recently alleged that she was "backhanded in the face" by a security guard protecting French basketballer Victor Wembanyama in Las Vegas recently.
Las Vegas police confirmed they were called to the scene at the Aria hotel regarding a battery investigation, but no arrests have been made, reports BBC.
In an Instagram post, Spears referred to the 'traumatic experiences' she faced and said she was not prepared for it.
Spears said she spotted the athlete and wanted to congratulate him for his success.
Describing the moment, she wrote: "It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention...His security then backhanded me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd."
"Nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses off my face," she said.
Wembanyama, who was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs last month, told reporters as quoted by CBS News on Thursday that as he was walking down a hallway, someone who had been trying to get his attention "grabbed me from behind."

He said security then "pushed her away," though he noted he didn't see what happened because he had been told not to stop so that a crowd couldn't form around him.
The 19-year-old said he didn't know "how much force" was used and that he only found out the person was Spears hours later, CBS News reported.
