Islamabad: In a repetition of what had happened to Sikh girl Jagjit Kaur, now a Pakistani Christian girl, who was identified as Huma Masih, has been allegedly abducted and then converted to Islam. However, the girl on a video message said she went with the man with her consent and converted though she being a minor the marriage is a violation of law.
Huma was also married to a Muslim man (supposedly a taxi driver) after her conversion.
However, Huma released a statement saying she was not kidnapped and was converted upon her own will and has done 'nikkah' (marriage) on her own will as well.
"If her statement is to be believed then that too remains a violation of Child Marriage Restraint Bill and Forced Conversions Bill," sources said.
However, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has sought a report on the matter.
An FIR has been lodged in connection with the incident.
Sources said Masih,14, was "abducted" on Nov 29 in Karachi. Her "abductor" was reportedly a taxi driver.
According to a statement, MNA Parkash Lohana called on the Sindh Governor at the Governor House and briefed him about the abduction incident of the student. Following that the Governor has sought a report pertaining to it from the IGP Sindh and directed him to recover the girl student immediately, reported UrduPoint news portal.
The conversion of girls belonging to the minority community has been reported from Pakistan in recent times.

In the video, the girl could be seen sitting beside Ehsan.
