A Pakistani boxer has vanished in Italy where he was visiting to participate in the World Qualifying round for the Paris Olympics boxing in Milan.
Zohaib Rasheed vanished on Saturday from the team hotel, reported The News International.
Coach Arshad Hussain had gone for attending the managers meeting and then the draws ceremony and when he returned to hotel at around 9 pm local time Zohaib was nowhere, the news channel reported.
He left his luggage in the hotel room but took some of his belongings with him.
When the other four Pakistani boxers featuring in the Qualifiers were going down for training on Saturday Zohaib told them that he would undergo training upstairs as it was very cold downstairs. And he did not meet his fellows then, the newspaper reported.
The boxer reportedly took the key to his room and kept his passport before vanishing from the hotel.
He has a one-month Schengen visa, the news channel reported.
Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) has also informed the Local Organising Committee (LOC) about Zohaib’s matter. This is the third boxer in recent years who vanished in Europe, ARY News reported.
