Kathmandu: A Nepali journalist, who had once written an article on Chinese encroachment in Rui village, was found dead recently in Mandu region, media reports said.
50-year-old Balaram Baniya's body was discovered on the bank of Bagmati River near the Hydropower Project in Mandu, The Hindustan Times.
He was the Assistant Editor at Kantipur Daily.
He went missing since Monday.
A team deployed from Area Police Office in Bhimphedi had recovered his body and sent it to Hetauda Hospital, reports the Nepali newspaper.
A District Police Office spokesperson told the newspaper: "As per the application received for his search which also contained his photo, it has been verified that the body that was found was that of Journalist Baniya."
