Afghanistan: Roadside mine blast kills district police chief in Paktika

Kabul: A roadside mine blast in Afghanistan's  Paktika province on Sunday left the district police chief for Surobi district killed, media reports said.

He has been identified as Darya Khan Talash.

According to the officials, the incident happened in early morning when his vehicle hit a roadside mine, reports Tolo News.

The Taliban group claimed responsibility for the incident.

In Zabul, Sahib Jan, district police chief in the Nawbahar district, was also killed in a roadside mine blast on Saturday, local officials were quoted as saying by Tolo News.

However, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
