Kabul: A car bomb attack in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul on Thursday killed at least 10 people and left 42 others injured, media reports said.
The attack took place at around 10:10 am local time after a suicide car bomber detonated his explosive close to a National Directorate of Security (NDS) checkpoint in the heavily fortified area in downtown Kabul, reported Tolo News.
Afghanistan's Ministry of Interior did not comment on the issue further.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
The area was blocked to traffic by the security forces and the ambulances have referred the victims to Wazir Akbar Khan and Emergency hospitals, reported Tolo News.
