Kabul: A standoff is currently underway between the armed forces and gunmen who stormed the compound of an international organization in Afghanistan's Kabul city on Wednesday, media reports said.
As per photos circulating on the social media, plume of smoke could be seen coming out from the spot of the incident in Kabul.
According to media reports, militants initially detonated explosives to make their way inside the compound in Shahr-e-Naw area of the city
Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, told Khaama Press that the explosion has taken place close to Counterpart International Non-governmental Organization which is located behind the Attorney General’s Office.
The Taliban group has claimed responsibility for the attack, reported the news agency.
