At least 35 people, including a few Indians, died after a massive fire broke out in a six-storeyed building at Mangaf block in Kuwait's Ahmadi Governorate on Wednesday, local media reports said.
The fire left 15 people injured.
The injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Though KUNA news agency claimed 35 people died in the blaze, some media reports said 41 people lost their lives in the tragedy.
The fire started in a kitchen in the six-storey building in Mangaf city in the early hours of Wednesday, Gulf News reported quoting officials.
A report published on onmanorama website said 10 Indians, including five Malayalis, were killed in the incident.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar condoled the loss of lives in the tragedy and posted on X: "Deeply shocked by the news of the fire incident in Kuwait city. There are reportedly over 40 deaths and over 50 have been hospitalized. Our Ambassador has gone to the camp. We are awaiting further information. "
"Deepest condolences to the families of those who tragically lost their lives. Wish early and full recovery to those who have been injured,"he said.
