Ankara: An explosion has hit a ship at a shipyard in the east of Istanbul, killing one person and injuring another one, media reported on Monday.
The explosion occurred in the ship's waste compartment at the shipyard in the Tuzla district at 10:30 a.m. local time (07:30 GMT), the Milliyet newspaper said.
There was a gas compression, followed by an explosion, the newspaper reported, adding that at that moment there were two shipyard workers in the compartment.
