Yemen's state news agency reported that Aden Governor Ahmed Lamlas and agriculture minister Salem al-Suqatri, both are the members of the southern separatist group, had survived a "terrorist assassination attempt" in al-Tawahi district.

Ahmed Lamlas is the secretary-general of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and the al-Tawahi district, where the blast was triggered today. It houses the STC headquarters.

At least four soldiers in the convoy were killed, and five others, including three civilians, one of them a child, were seriously injured in the attack, local media reported quoting security sources and a military spokesman of the speratist Southern Transitional Council (STC).

The government and the sepratist STC are nominal allies under a coalition led by Saudi Arabia which has been battling the Iran-backed Houthi movement.
