Kabul: Security forces killed a suicide bomber before he could reach his target and detonate the explosives in Afghanistan's Kunduz on Tuesday.
The incident took place near a checkpost at around 7:00 am local time in Imam Sahib district, reports said.
A statement from the Ministry of Defense said the sucide bomber wanted to enter the gate but was stopped and killed by guards.
It said that some attackers started a gunfight after the incident and were subsequently killed while others fled.
No further details were given.
The Taliban is yet to comment on the report.
