Washington: US President Donald Trump has finally revealed the payment he made to his lawyer to pay adult entertainer Stormy Daniels to keep her mouth shut about an alleged affair with the billionaire.
According to official reports, the US President paid his lawyer Michael Cohen between USD 100,001 and USD 250,000 in 2016.
Trump had previously denied paying Daniels.
Daniels has said that she and Trump shared a physical relationship in 2006, which, according to Trump's lawyer, has been opposed vehemently by his client.
Rudy Giuliani, another of Trump's attorneys, said in a televised interview that the adult entertainer was paid the money before the US elections to stop her from spreading 'false and extortionist accusation', which could have potentially damaged the US President's candidacy.
Last month, Daniels came out with a sketch of a man, who had allegedly threatened her seven years ago over her affair with Trump.
The whole saga broke out in March when Daniels, at a television interview, said she was threatened to be quiet over the affair in 2011.
She said a man had approached her in a Las Vegas car park in 2011 over the issue.
Daniels told CBS News the man had allegedly said she should "leave Trump alone".
She said the incident occurred after she decided disclose her story to a magazine.
"I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter. T-- taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the backseat, diaper bag, you know, gettin' all the stuff out. And a guy walked up on me and said to me, 'Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.' And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, 'That's a beautiful little girl. It'd be a shame if something happened to her mom.' And then he was gone," the actress told CBS News.
