Wuhan: Meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday invited him for an 'informal summit' in India in 2019, reports said.
Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Wuhan city on Friday and exchanged views on solidifying bilateral relationship between the two nations, officials said.
Modi arrived in China on Thursday.
The meeting between the two leaders has been called as an 'informal summit'.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "And the much awaited Informal Summit gets underway! PM @narendramodi warmly welcomed by Chinese President Xi on his arrival at Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuhan. The two leaders had a one-on-one meeting during which they exchanged views on solidifying our bilateral relationship."
The 'informal summit' between Modi and Xi commenced with a cultural event at the Hubei Provincial Museum.
The two leaders were seen shaking hands when they met as the Chinese President himself welcomed Modi to the museum.
Kumar tweeted: "PM @narendramodi was welcomed at the Hubei Provincial Museum with an impressive cultural performance. India and China cultural connect go back many centuries and is reflected in present times through the popularity of Bollywood, Yoga and other aspects of Indian culture."
Modi was accorded a grand welcome in Wuhan, China, upon his arrival on Friday for the meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to media reports.
Speaking on his visit to the neighbouring nation, Modi had earlier tweeted: "I will be visiting Wuhan, China on 27-28 April 2018 for an Informal Summit with Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China."

He said he will be discussing issues related to bilateral and global importance with the Chinese President.
Modi said: "President Xi and I will exchange views on a range of issues of bilateral and global importance. We will discuss our respective visions and priorities for national development, particularly in the context of current and future international situation."
Modi also said he will review the developmental relations between the two nations.
"We will also review the developments in India-China relations from a strategic and long-term perspective."
The Indian Prime Minister has a packed itinerary, which includes a one-on-one meeting with Xi, a tour of one of the best known museums of China, dinner by a picturesque lake side followed by talks with top officials over the course of his stay, reported TOI.
