Kabul: At least 10 Taliban militants gave up their weapons and joined the government initiated peace process in Afghanistan.
The incident took place in Nangarhar province on Wednesday.
According to a NDS statement, the militants were involved in 'destructive and terrorist activities in Khogyani district'.
The NDS said that while joining the peace process, the militants handed over five AK-47 guns along with other weapons.
"The group handed over five AK-47 weapons, two pistols, an RPG and an amount of ammunition," the statement read.
