Wuhan/Xinhua: Central China's Hubei Province, the center of COVID-19 outbreak, launched 23 projects on the research of the novel coronavirus, the provincial science and technology department said.
The projects involved diagnosis, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment, interferon therapy, plasma treatment, prevention strategy and assistant clinical diagnosis platform of the novel coronavirus. Medical institutions, most being top hospitals of Western medicine and TCM in the province, are mainly responsible for the projects.
Hubei has organized emergency scientific research on COVID-19 since the epidemic and has made a series of advances in virus culture, animal model establishment and vaccine development.
