In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.” He did not provide further details on Iran’s counterproposal.

Meanwhile, during with Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters Major General Ali Abdollahi presented a report on the readiness of the Armed Forces of Iran, including the Army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the Law Enforcement Forces, the country’s security and border guard forces, the Ministry of Defense, and the Basij volunteer forces, reported Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency.

In his report, the top general said that all Iranian forces are at a high level of preparedness in terms of combat morale, defensive and offensive readiness, strategic planning, and the necessary equipment and weapons needed to counter US-Israel actions.

The commander warned that in case of any strategic miscalculation, aggression, or attack against Iran, swift, powerful, and decisive action would be taken. 

Strait of Hormuz tensions heighten global energy concerns

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil shipments, has emerged as a major flashpoint amid the ongoing tensions. Reports suggest disruptions in the waterway over the past two months following escalation linked to earlier strikes involving US-Israeli forces against Iran.

The situation has contributed to volatility in global oil markets, pushing prices higher and increasing inflationary pressure on essential goods worldwide. Economies dependent on energy imports have been particularly affected by the surge.

UN Security Council responds to maritime tensions

In response to the worsening situation, Bahrain and the United States have circulated a draft resolution at the United Nations Security Council calling on Iran to halt attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, according to diplomats at UN Headquarters in New York.

The proposal is reportedly backed by Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, whose representatives participated in discussions outlining the resolution. The move reflects growing regional concern over the stability of one of the world’s most important energy corridors.
