Adolescence actor Owen Cooper, who won hearts with his performance in Netflix series Adolescence, has now become the youngest actor to win the Emmy Awards.
Cooper's award victory remained one of the key moments of the event night, which was staged at the Peacock Theatre, Los Angeles, on Sunday.
Cooper won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie.
In his moving speech on the award night, Cooper said: "A couple years back I didn’t expect to be in the United States, let alone here. Tonight proves if you listen, you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life."
Amid an applauding crowd, he said: "I was nothing three years ago. I’m here now.”
Cooper played the character named Jamie Miller. The 13-year-old teen was accused of murdering a classmate in a series inspired by real-life events.
Adolescence dominated the night by sweeping six awards.
The awards included Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Series for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
