 'Gladiator' sequel on-set accident: Several crew members injured Gladiator

Several crew members of the upcoming Hollywood movie Gladiator were injured due to an accident that took place on the set of it.

“While filming a planned stunt sequence on the set of the Gladiator sequel, an accident occurred during which several crew members experienced non-life-threatening injuries,” a spokesperson for Paramount Pictures shared in a statement to CNN on Saturday.

“The safety and full medical services teams on-site were able to act quickly so that those who were impacted immediately received necessary care. They are all in stable condition and continue to receive treatment,” the statement continued.

According to reports, six people received treatment following the mishap.

A total of six people received treatment, four of whom remain in the hospital, reports Variety.

All of the impacted crew members were treated for burn injuries, according to an individual with knowledge of the production, reports Variety.

Two other crew members were treated locally and then discharged. The accident occurred towards the end of the shooting day. No cast members were harmed, the magazine reported.

Gladiator (2000):

Gladiator is a 2000 epic historical drama film directed by Ridley Scott and written by David Franzoni, John Logan, and William Nicholson.

It was produced by Universal Pictures. DreamWorks Pictures distributed the film in North America while Universal Pictures released it internationally through United International Pictures.

It stars Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Tomas Arana, Ralf Möller, Oliver Reed (in his final role), Djimon Hounsou, Derek Jacobi, John Shrapnel, Richard Harris, and Tommy Flanagan.
