Security Council President Briefs Press on Nuclear Test by DPRK, Elbio Oscar Rosselli Frieri (left), Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the UN and President of the Security Council for January, briefs journalists following urgent Council consultations on the 6 January nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Council issued a press statement strongly condemning the test, which is “a clear violation of Security Council resolutions… and the non-proliferation regime”.
