Damascus: The United States has said that nearly 150 Islamic State militants have been killed during a raid by US-led coalition forces in Syria.
The operation was carried out on Saturday, Colonel Ryan Dillon, spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), said in a post on Twitter.
Precision strikes by @CJTFOIR killed nearly 150 ISIS terrorists near As Shafah, Syria on Jan. 20. Our SDF partners are still making daily progress and sacrifices, & together we continue finding, targeting & killing ISIS terrorists in the middle Euphrates River Valley.#defeatDaesh pic.twitter.com/HTL0wYRlnN

However, despite the claim by the US-led coalition, the ISIS has not commented on the report.
"While "caliphate” clearly crushed, ISIS threat remains. Syrian Democratic Forces cont. fight vs. hard-core ISIS in remaining pockets in Syria; #SDF also regularly killing, capturing foreign terrorist fighters attempting to flee back to their countries. #defeatDaesh," Dillion added.
