At least three policemen were injured and a gunman was killed during a shooting incident close to the Israeli Embassy in Jordan's Amman city, media reports said on Sunday.
The shooting incident occurred after the assailant opened fire on a patrol operating near the embassy and attempted to escape, Xinhua news agency reported.
A chase ensued, leading to an exchange of gunfire in which the gunman was killed, the news agency reported quoting a statement issued by the Jordanian Public Security Directorate.
The injured security personnel were taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident is currently being investigated.
Jordan has witnessed several peaceful anti-Israel protests since the conflict with Gaza commenced last year following Hamas attack.
