The crash site of the helicopter, which was carrying President Ebrahim Raisi, has been located, local Iranian media reports said.
The helicopter carrying the President and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian reportedly crashed in a forested area in East Azarbaijan.
According to IRNA, Pir-Hossein Kolivand made the announcement on Monday, saying the teams have arrived at the wreckage of the crashed copter.
He did not give further details but said “the condition is not good”.
"73 rescue teams are present in the search area of the helicopter in Tawal village with advanced and specialized equipment," he told IRNA.
Rescue officials earlier said inclement weather is hindering the rescue operation.
Earlier on Sunday, Ebrahim Raisi inaugurated the Qiz Qalasi and Khodaafarin dams with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
In 2021, Raisi was elected as the president on the second attempt.
He is regarded as a potential successor to the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
