Colombo: Two military personnel died after a trainer aircraft crashed at Sri Lanka's Air Force Academy based in Trincomalee city in Eastern Province on Monday morning, the air force said.
Director of Media of Sri Lanka Air Force Dushan Wijesinghe told the media the PT-6 trainer aircraft took off at 11:25 a.m. local time, and that both the trainer and the trainee died in the crash.
According to him, Air Force Commander Udeni Rajapaksa has appointed a committee to probe the incident.
