Moscow: Amid the ongoing war with Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin's Direct Line, an annual telephone marathon, will not be held this month.
This is the first time the event will not take place in nearly two decades.
It is the first time that the program, which sees ordinary citizens speak directly to the Russian leader about their daily problems, has been delayed since 2004, reports The Moscow Times.
In a statement, Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov reassured reporters that the event would take place at a later date, the online newspaper reported.
The move was announced by Russia at a time when the country is busy invading Ukraine for the past several months.
