Kyiv: British PM Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to Ukraine and met the country's president Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday.
Russia has been invading Ukraine for over a month now.
Praising the courage shown by people of Ukraine, Johnson tweeted: "The Ukrainians have the courage of a lion. President @ZelenskyyUa has given the roar of that lion.The UK stands unwaveringly with the people of Ukraine.Slava Ukraini."

Sharing an image where the PM could be seen shaking his hands with the Ukrainian President, Johnson wrote on Twitter: "Today I met my friend President @ZelenskyyUa in Kyiv as a show of our unwavering support for the people of Ukraine.We're setting out a new package of financial & military aid which is a testament of our commitment to his country's struggle against Russia’s barbaric campaign."

Johnson's last-minute visit to the capital was unannounced - the first sign he was there came with a tweet by the Ukrainian embassy in London showing a photo of him meeting President Zelensky, reports BBC.
