Islamabad: Pakistan has confirmed that Taliban members have captured a key town on the Afghan side of its Chaman-Spin Boldak border.
“They have taken control of Spin Boldak border crossing,” Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri told Pakistan Observer.
Replying to a question, he said Pakistan wanted to reopen the border crossing with Afghanistan to facilitate cross border movement of the people.
Afghanistan is witnessing a political turmoil ever since foreign forces are leaving the country.
The Taliban group has captured several regions in the country since then.
