Kabul: At least 13 Taliban militants were killed in an airstrike carried out by the Afghan Air Force (AAF) in the country's Kandahar province.
The raids took place in Panjwai district on Tuesday night, a tweet from the Ministry of Defence notified.
Weapons and ammunition depots were also destroyed during the airstrikes.
"13 Taliban were killed in an airstrike after they attacked #ANDSF positions in Panjwae district of Kandahar Prov. last night. Additionally, large amount of their weapons and ammunitions were destroyed as a result," the tweet read.

Kandahar has witnessed clashes between the Afghan Army and the Taliban in the recent past.
The militants have suffered heavy casualties in Arghandab and Zheray districts of the province.
