Kabul: At least one police officer has been killed in an attack launched by the Taliban militants in Afghanistan's Paktia province, local reports said.
The incident took place on Monday morning.
The victim has been identified as Major Qadir, the deputy head of PD1 in Gardez city in Pakita province.
He was gunned down while patrolling the area, Sardar Wali Tabasam, the provincial governor’s spokesman said.
One other policeman sustained injuries during the attack, Tabasam added.
The Taliban has owned the ambush.
