London: Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle on Saturday when she will marry his son Prince Harry, confirmed the Kensington Palace on Friday.
Prince Charles will perform the act as Meghan's father Thomas will be unable to attend the marriage due to health reasons, media reports said.
"Ms Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle," read a statement issued by the Kensington Palace.
"The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to the royal family in this way," it said.
The royal marriage will be held on Saturday.
Prince Harry's grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, will also attend the wedding, Buckingham Palace confirmed, reported BBC.
Prince Philip, 96, is reportedly recovering from a hip operation.
The wedding will be held at St George's Chapel in Windsor.
