Analyst - Catalytic Partnerships (m/f/d)

Catalytic Partnerships is a small, agile, strategic team directly reporting to the CEO with the ultimate purpose of developing and managing partnerships with catalytic investors and donors and sourcing catalytic funding for the funds and TA facilities that Finance in Motion manages/advises/structures.

Our pioneering team is on the lookout for a dynamic, forward-thinking mindset, a young professional passionate about researching and supporting the team in engaging with new catalytic partners, i.e., public donors (national governments, international financial institutions/development financial institutions, international organizations), philanthropies (e.g., foundations), networks, and think - tanks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform research on catalytic investors (bilateral, multilateral, and private/foundations/philanthropies), map them by thematic focus and regional coverage area with existing and new funds, and identify the most relevant catalytic contacts.
• Support the coordination of catalytic fundraising for current and new funds and technical assistance facilities according to catalytic strategies and business plans.
• Support the team in establishing a strategic dialogue with catalytic investors, e.g., through arranging meetings and preparing presentations/promotional material in cooperation with other teams.
• Systematically screen TA funding possibilities and track calls for proposals from donors.
• Integrate the mapping of catalytic investors into a new customer relationship management tool, track catalytic contracts, and follow up with them.
• Produce regular reporting/Dashboards on catalytic partnership activities.
• Support the identification of networking platforms and events/conferences that help to gain access to catalytic investors and support the team in preparing FiM's attendance at such outreach opportunities.

What we expect

• Strong research skills with the ability to consolidate large sets of information into strategic and concrete recommendations.
• Strong skills in preparing presentations and writing papers in English targeted to external catalytic stakeholders.
• Strong database skills and the ability to integrate them with existing company IT tools.
• Strong operational skills, attention to detail, high level of self-motivation, results-driven approach, and tenacity with a hands-on mentality.
• Client servicing mentality coupled with an open and engaging communication style and great interpersonal skills for interactions with external catalytic stakeholders and other teams within the company.
• Knowledge of the business environment FiM operates in (Impact finance in emerging markets and developing economies), notably the funding side of blended finance structures.
• Knowledge of FiM's business model, including available IT tools and operational processes, will be considered an advantage.
• Ability to anticipate and meet changes in the business environment of the team.
