JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Sector Specialist (Agriculture and Livelihood) in the Integrated Development Programme (IDP). This role will primarily focus on supporting program participants in improving their agriculture and livelihoods by developing their skills, entrepreneurship, and market systems. The person will be responsible for implementing the project at the field level, supervising, mentoring, and building the capacity of team members and stakeholders, and ensuring the quality of project interventions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare a budget to implement activities and reach AOP targets within the timeline.
• Analyse the CHT livelihoods context and design the livelihoods strategy and interventions of CHT
• Ensure capacity building for assigned field staff on agriculture, livelihoods, skill development and UPG activities with quality programme implementation
• Ensure UPG final selection through verification & field observation, IGA and skill development training, provide hands-on training for frontline staff
• Coordinate with BRAC personnel, BRAC relevant programme, and other related stakeholders & NGOs, primary coordination with contractors in relevant cases
• Provide support to Upazila Managers, District Managers, and POs in terms of supervision, monitoring, and follow-up with the program participants
• Liaison with the government (DAE, DLS, BADC) and non-government stakeholders, including local government representatives, private sector enterprises, NGOs, and project participants, arranges different types of meetings, workshops, and social mobilization.
• Ensure project report, lesson learning and documentation of MIS, M&E and case study.
• Establish a collection center for market access to small farm producers and linkages with the input and output markets, and private sector enterprises, and establish a market channel in CHT areas.
• Provide technical knowledge, especially on agriculturally based activities like agriculture production, livestock management & treatment, IGA and climate resilience-related activities

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Strong writing and oral communication skills
• Conversant on developing training modules and technical guidelines for producer groups, market and value chain development, establishment and functioning collection centers, institutional and social development intervention
• Good interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively
• Understanding of disaster management, adaptation and climate change

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Masters in Agriculture from a recognized university

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in agriculture, livestock and skill development activities with market and value chain development, producer groups, institutional development, social issues, person with disabilities, gender and small entrepreneurship development
