The Berghof Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting efforts toward sustainable peace through conflict transformation research, dialogue and mediation, and peace education.
With our work in the Finance Management Unit, we support the international project teams in their mission with advice and support. In order to be able to do this even better every day, we are looking for you!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Securing project designs in relation to realistic budgeting
• Financial processing, checking and documentation of all billing-relevant processes within several projects
• Support and guidance of project teams and international partner organizations on billing and, if necessary, documentation issues
• Close collaboration with accounting, human resources and risk management
REGULAR DUTIES:
• Preparation of project budgets, budget reallocations and increases
• Preparation of deviation analyzes and forecasts regarding project expenses
• Check for compliance with financial and internal regulations as well as donor guidelines
• Preparation of fund requests and project invoices/proof of use
• Contract preparation and review with project partners and service providers at home and abroad
• Invoice verification and payment approvals
• Preparation and cross-checking of partner statements and international travel expense reports
• Supporting tasks relating to the annual financial statements
YOUR KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• Successfully completed (technical) university degree (Bachelor) or successfully completed commercial training with a strong financial focus
• Ideally experience in financial management of international projects
• Very good knowledge of Excel
• DATEV knowledge is an advantage but not a must
• Good language skills in spoken and written English and German
• Ideally experience with donor policies such as the Foreign Office, EU, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or others
• Knowledge of public procurement law and funding law desirable
