Position description

Your main tasks:

• You are responsible for the setup, design and implementation of dialogue activities in Lebanon (relating to service provision, social cohesion, vision-building, substantive reform options, DwP), accompanying and conducting meetings with relevant stakeholders, overseeing logistics, finance and planning;
• You conceptualize and co-facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue processes;
• You maintain regular close consultations with Lebanese stakeholders and partners;
• You contribute to conflict analysis, monitor and analyze the conflict dynamics and trends in Lebanon;
• You draft donor reports, concept notes, and project proposals and ensure a consolidated plan for the entire project cycle incl. financial calculations is in place;
• You conduct background research, sound analysis and support the development and oversee the drafting of projects publications and training materials;
• You ensure successful implementation of the projects, their different workstreams and activities;
• You take responsibility for and guide junior staff in their contribution to the project implementation as well as in the organization and logistical arrangements for all projects activities;
• You closely coordinate and cooperate with inhouse-crosscutting roles and fulfill additional tasks as assigned by the Representative;
• You develop new project ideas and concept notes and contribute to fundraising together with the Representative of the Berghof Foundation in Beirut;
• You provide backstopping of team with regards to finance and activity, coordination, resource planning, administrative and logistics oversight;
• You liaise and closely coordinate with the finance department to prepare budget narratives, extensions and monitor overall spending;
• You perform additional tasks upon the request of the Representative of the Berghof Foundation in Beirut;
• You cooperate closely with Berghof Foundation Lebanon and MENA teams, as well as Berlin-based staff members;
• Frequent travel inside Lebanon and occasional travel in MENA and to Germany is required.

Your knowledge, experience & skills:

• You hold a Master's degree within a relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations or similar;
• You have more than 5 years of relevant work experience (project management/regional expertise);
• You contribute expertise and regional experience on Lebanon and the Middle East;
• Excellent verbal and written language skills in Arabic and English are required;
• Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams) complete your profile;
