Heavy Rains Pakistan Monsoon
The KP Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has said 71 people, mostly children, died in rain-related incidents in Khyber Paktunkhwa, media reports said.
The figure shared by PDMA reflected the time period between the start of the monsoon season and June.
Monsoon rains, which fall across the region from June to September every year, continue to lash many parts of the country, Dawn News reported.
Monsoon has wreaked havoc across the country since late June, triggering deadly floods and landslides.
According to the latest data provided by KP PDMA, the total death toll from rain-related incidents this monsoon season stands at 71, out of which 40 are children, 17 men and 14 women, the newspaper reported.
Amid heavy rains, Swat recorded the deaths of 22 people.
The deaths reportedly occured due to floods, landslides and infrastructure collapse.
