Amazon is preparing for its largest layoffs, mostly in corporate roles, according to media reports.
The layoffs will amount to the largest cuts to Amazon’s corporate workforce in the company’s history, spanning almost every business, a person familiar with the matter told CNBC.
According to reports, the job cuts will begin on Tuesday.
Amazon is expected to begin informing employees of the layoffs via email Tuesday morning, the person said.
The news report, however, could not specify the number of jobs that can be slashed by the e-commerce giant.
According to reports, it has roughly 350,000 corporate employees.
This will be Amazon's largest job cut since 2022.
As per Layoffs.fyi, 98,344 tech employees have been eliminated by 216 tech companies in 2025.
Microsoft has laid off about 15,000 people so far this year, while Meta last week eliminated roughly 600 jobs within its artificial intelligence unit, CNBC reported.
