Washington: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently reacted to the violent border standoff between India and China and said Indians have done their best to respond to Beijing's “incredibly aggressive actions”.
" So I’ve spoken with Foreign Minister Jaishankar a number of times about this. The Chinese took incredibly aggressive action," Pompeo told media.
"The Indians have done their best to respond to that. I’d put this in the context of General Secretary Xi Jinping and his behavior throughout the region, and indeed, throughout the world," he said.
"It’s – I don’t think it’s possible to look at that particular instance of Chinese Communist Party aggression in isolation. I think you need to put it in the larger context," the US top leader said.
At least 20 Indian soldiers were killed during a violent standoff between armies of the neighbouring nations last months.
India and China on Friday reiterated their decision to work on complete disengagement of their troops along the Line of Control (LAC) in the Ladakh region where a violent face off had taken place in June last.
