Melitopol: Residents of Ukraine's Melitopol city have protested against the alleged abduction of  the mayor by Russian forces, media reports said on Sunday.

Ukrainian officials have posted a video saying it shows Ivan Fedorov being led away blindfolded on Friday, BBC reported.

Ukraine's Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov told the BBC days ago that his administration was not going to co-operate with the Russians "in any way".

The Mayor could be facing terrorism charges.

According to CNN, the prosecutor's office for the separatist Russia-backed Luhansk region has said that they are weighing terrorism charges against Fedorov.

Meanwhile,  Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has held phone talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy when they discussed ways to end the Ukraine conflict, the prime minister's office informed.

The phone talks were held on Saturday evening and lasted for over one hour.

The leaders discussed ways to end armed hostilities in Ukraine and Israel's efforts in that respect, the Israeli prime minister's office said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said on Twitter that he discussed "the prospects for peace talks" with Bennett on Saturday.
