State of Health Chinese mainland registers 2,157 new local COVID-19 cases

Beijing: China is once again battling COVID-19 and on Friday it registered 2,157 locally transmitted cases, media reports said.
The daily case count is slightly lower from 2,388 registered on Thursday.
Of the new local infections, 1,674 were reported in the province of Jilin, 199 in Fujian, 69 in Liaoning, 47 in Guangdong, and 42 in Shandong respectively, reports Xinhua news agency.
The rest of the cases were reported in 15 other provincial-level regions, including Tianjin and Gansu.
According to the National Health Commission, 71 imported COVID-19 cases were reported Friday.
Meanwhile, two new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported from Jilin.
