Bangladesh records two COVID-19 deaths after 66 days

Dhaka: Bangladesh registered two deaths due to COVID-19 for the first time in 66 days, as per data released by the government on Friday.

During the same 24-hour period, the country also added 89 fresh cases.

The overall tally of infections now stands at 2,039,506.

As many as 1,515 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 5.87 percent, reports bdnews24.

During the same period, 12 people recovered from the disease.

COVID-19 infection was first reported in China in 2019 and since then the disease was recorded in over 200 nations.
