About BtGA

Our Vision at Bridging the Gap Africa (BtGA) is a world filled with pedestrian footbridges connecting isolated communities who live in a Walking World. We believe that rural African communities should not suffer from the dangers posed by impassable rivers. Footbridges prevent drowning and ensure safe, uninterrupted access to education, health care, and economic opportunity. We are committed to building bridges that save lives.

Our development model is designed to bring positive and transformational impacts for those living in a walking world. The bridges provide safe access for children to attend school even during floods, and ensure that economic opportunities are not impeded by impassable rivers, thereby reducing poverty. Furthermore, by providing safe access to healthcare facilities, the bridges contribute to the overall improvement of the general health of the population. Our model is community-focused and leverages resources from the community, donors, and BtGA to build each bridge. By involving every member of the community, we aim to bring about social change that sustainably makes the world a better place.

We are committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Nondiscrimination. BtGA does not and shall not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all members of our staff, board, partners, donors, and the people we serve.
