The Balochistan Liberation Army on Sunday released a video of the targeted attack on a convoy that was carrying Pakistani soldiers, hours after the rebel group claimed 90 security personnel were killed in the incident
The incident occurred in Balochistan's Noshki (Nushki) district.
The same rebel group previously claimed it had hijacked the Jaffar Express that left dozens of people dead.
Despite BLA claiming that its attack left 90 security personnel dead, Pakistani officials said the six soldiers lost their lives in the incident.
The blast occurred when a suicide bomber exploded himself near the FC convoy, sources told Ary News.
The source further told the news channel that three terrorists were killed in the ensuing operation.
Pakistani security forces cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation after the blast.
Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti condemned the incident and said four terrorists were killed in the retaliatory action.
He wrote on X: "I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack by the banned BLA in Noshki! 4 terrorists were killed in the immediate retaliatory action of the security forces. The sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain, we will bring the enemy to an end at all costs!"
Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the incident.
He posted on X: "We share the grief of the families of the deceased. Targeting innocent people is the height of brutality. The enemy of the country is hatching a heinous conspiracy to create instability in the beloved homeland. The nation's firm resolve cannot be weakened by such cowardly acts."
BLA militants claimed to have hijacked the Jaffar Express train last week near Balochistan’s Sibi area, which left 26 hostages, including 18 security personnel, dead.
Five Pakistani security personnel died during the operation that followed the hijacking of the train.
Pakistan has been witnessing a spike in terrorism-related activities in recent years.
Pakistan ranked second in the Global Terrorism Index.
The Global Terrorism Index (GTI) is a study analysing the impact of terrorism for 163 countries covering 99.7 per cent of the world’s population.
